GiftTree NZ is NOT a Scam
GiftTree NZ is NOT a Scam At GiftTree NZ, we take time to deliver your products because we prioritize using alternative, cost-effective methods. This often involves bundling items for shipment or restocking products as needed. Since we maintain low stock for all our products, some orders may require us to replenish inventory or handle larger items. Additionally, we are a small team of just two people managing the packing process.
We understand that waiting for your tracking number can be frustrating, but we kindly ask customers not to contact us for tracking updates within the first 14 working days after placing an order. If your parcel has not arrived within that time, then you may reach out. Constantly emailing us every day for updates only slows down our operations. If you find yourself obsessing over tracking, consider using that time productively—help someone, go to the gym, or focus on other activities. Rest assured, we are committed to ensuring your order arrives. Why don’t we provide tracking numbers immediately? Our system requires manual updates, and while some tracking numbers may be updated within a few days, others depend on scheduled pickups.
We do not have the resources to pay for expensive systems or staff to update tracking every day. However, we have our own internal tracking processes to ensure your order is on its way. If you are not comfortable with this process, you are welcome to shop elsewhere—it’s fine. For those considering alternatives, remember that many large companies sell data, use forced labor, evade taxes, and flood the market with cheap, toxic products. Just Google “toxic items on Temu,” and you’ll see the difference. At GiftTree NZ, we operate ethically and sustainably. If you don’t like our approach, that’s okay; you don’t need to shop with us.
But we are confident in our methods and proud to be a growing business that competes successfully against larger companies and Chiniese apps. If we were a scam, we wouldn’t still be in business. Our responsibility is to deliver the products you order. If for any reason we are unable to supply your items or if they are lost during transit, we will provide a full refund. Please understand that we are not here to provide one-on-one service or build personal relationships. Our primary focus is fulfilling your orders accurately and efficiently. Thank you for choosing GiftTree NZ. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work hard to deliver your items.
If we were a scam, would we have this:
- A proven track record of existing since 2019, with countless orders placed over the last four years? Even bad reviews often acknowledge that the product was from a brand or a specific source. Many people order products made overseas, while others prefer to purchase branded or cheaper items.
We aim to help people and are doing our best, but if our best is not good enough—helping single mothers, providing jobs, and contributing to charity—then you are free to shop elsewhere. We are not desperate for your business. We understand that people want a local NZ company, but look around—most other companies that focus on customer service and making people "love shopping" are going broke.
What does this tell you? In our case, we focus solely on business relationships, not customized services, and yet we remain successful while others try to impress customers and fail. Why? Because to impress customers, companies must pay wages, invest in systems, and put money into training and relationship-building. All this effort, combined with the cost of paying taxes and product expenses, leaves very little room for profit.
We operate with low margins and pay both GST and income tax, which means a significant portion of our revenue goes straight to taxes and wages. Running a business isn’t cheap—overheads are high, and costs continue to rise. While we would love to run our business like other retailers, focusing on impressing customers, the reality is that many of those businesses are no longer around because they didn’t account for the true costs of operation.
We remain committed to staying in business by focusing on what matters: delivering your products and managing our costs wisely. If that
doesn’t align with your expectations, that’s okay—you are free to choose a different company.
